Federal Government Urges Ban on Cell Phone Use By Drivers

So the NTSB wants to ban cell phone use by drivers.

Of course it’s for a good cause, safety. But why stop there, why not ban all distractions for drivers. Goodbye radio, newspapers, paperwork, billboards, street signs, other cars, passengers, pedestrians, makeup application. The list is endless.

As a Realtor and father, I am in the car quite a bit and have to make phone calls while I am on the road. I am not in favor of distracted driving but I am also against further regulation by the federal government. Let’s let the states decide individually by a vote of the people how much freedom we are willing to give away in the name of safety.
